OK, I have spent most of the last two days updating my website. It is not quite where I want it to be, but there have been a lot of improvements, I think. Most of which will hopefully help search engines find me better, and some things that I changed in the coding just to make my life a little easier in the future.
Additions/Improvements:
- I have been customizing and updating all the content on each page. Not all of them are done, but I think you will be able to tell which ones have been.
- I changed the copy that is adjacent to the images on the main gallery pages (again, not all of them are done yet).
- I added a link to view more photos within each of the gallery pages using Robert Watcher's OnePageGallery scripts.
- I added content to the footer below the copyright and MarketingTool.com link.
- I added some .php mainly to handle the header and footer in a more reasonable manner.
- I added a form for an email contact that includes the customer's email address, name, and a text box for them to type in.
To Do List:
- Finish updating the copy and content on each page.
- Make variables to allow the links at the top to be modified on each page. I want the link for page that the viewer is on to be text only.
- Add variables so the logo will change color to match the text/trim on each page.
Along with these things, I am considering removing my signature from my pages. I am going to be building a site for just my fine art, nature, landscape, and stock photography that will be separate from my portrait business. I may just use my signature on it, and leave it off my portrait work anyway. I also want to add a link that will close the OPG galleries.
Any comments are welcome.
Thanks,
Travis
