What are you reading?

Sure; I'll buy a copy Suzie!

And Tony Dungee's book is Quiet Strengh. I have that one on my bedside table as well. I never got thru that one either. I'm not a good reader. I live in Indiana; but i'm still a detroit lions fan! Dungee is a great fellow; but I don't have lots of time to read and just want trashy novels like Nelson DeMille's, Stephen King's and John Irving's. And whatever else gets recommended I'll try...

I guess the God is at Eye Level type book is about as inspiration as I get. The others remind me too much of college texts Wink

I'm haven't seen a posing book I'm in love with...I have a couple; but they're in boxes somewhere right now & I can't take the time to find them at present.

Seriously, I do have an internet site that I go to for "Glamour Poses" I call it my book or reference for poses.

Confucius says

One can teach another to fish, what baits work best etc, they can take them out fishing to their so so lake, the one learning to fish will be happy for catching fish even if they were not of great sizes.
The fisherman also has HIS favorite fishing hole, that one, he will not reveal.

here's my so so lake

Blah, okay Mike, you suck.

I agree; you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink; you can lead an ass to knowledge but you cannot make him think.

I'm wishing I was more artistic. I'm a good copy cat; but that's lame!

I think I am not stupid when it comes to female posing, geez.  I just would like a good reference book.

It's not for everyone, but, I came across it by accident, what I found was in MY OPINION was a gold mine of poses, Power with elegance.
Anyway, whether nude or clothed, I believe they can work.

If you don't like them, that's fine, if you like them, "You're Welcome"

And, I'm not an ass, nor do I suck, nor am I a bad person, I'M JUST A PLAIN OLD NICE GUY.    Big Grin

Had I come across that site by accident I probably wouldn't have thought "Hey, what great poses".  But you're right, there are a lot of good ideas there.

NO-- of course I wasn't calling anyone and ass! I'm very frustrated with my own photo taking/processing abilities! MY sister and brother-in-law used to have that on the wall in their guest bathroom! It's describes how you can tell me it all, I can read the books, etc, but still be not satisfied with my pictures! my husband accuses me of reading more about photography than actually doing it and I think that's actually true!

Nor are you old Smiley

I know no one was calling me names, it was just funny that Mike wouldn't show me something and then the whole leading a horse to water thing came up.... nevermind, ya'll can read the thread and see where I got my funny little joke.

I'll take a look when I am not at work (sounds like there are some things I wouldn't care to bring up on this computer).

I like having posing examples not so much for my own reference, but to show the person doing the posing. It's usually easier to show them what you want them trying to explain it. Faster too.

Just in case anyone else is in that same situation...

The first looks like pencil sketches of nudes.  Nothing explicit, but probably not something you want to be staring at when you're supposed to be working.

Mike's second link is paintings of fantasy characters.  Picture Bob's photos done as paintings.

I've got a binder that I keep poses in.  When I see an image that I like the pose of I print it and throw it in the binder.  It's more for my use though.  I don't show it to clients because I don't want them to mistake the pictures in my binder for photos I've taken.  Plus, going off of memory rather than off a picture makes it easier to miss the pose just enough to make it different.

Although I like the idea of an actual posing book to show clients.  I've seen a few that are made for that.  Maybe I ought to look into 'em.
